Fishing in the river Valira and lakes of Andorra
From mid-March until mid-November, you can plan your day’s fishing in Andorra. There are a large number of rivers and mountain lakes where you can fish in perfect tranquility. There are also fifteen controlled fishing areas available.
Explore the trails that will allow you to reach lakes at over 2000m altitude, among high mountains and unspoiled landscapes. Here you can practice fly fishing, a specialty very popular in Andorra.
Among the species of trout that can be found in these rivers and lakes we must mention the trout native to the country (Salmo trutta fario) as well as the brook trout (Salvelinus fontinalis) and rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss).
Remember that in Andorra fishing requires a fishing license: the license can be purchased at the government administrative building (c / Prat de la Creu, 62, Andorra la Vella), any Tourist Office or at reception at the Hotel.
